Valley Railroad is definitely a preservation as well as a tourist railway. They can have little use for luggage cars but preserve them anyway

On 1 August we paid our first visit to the Connecticut Valley Railroad for three years. Much had changed - CPR No. 1246 and the Baldwin Prairie had moved to a museum elsewhere in the state, No. 40 was fully restored and a new mikado had arrived for rebuilding. Still the unique charm of the train-and-riverboat combination remained the same.
